*Quizzes and Tests will be weekly and they may contain information from more than one chapter.

*This is an honors level course.  Therefore, you will be expected to complete essays and projects on a regular basis. You should expect at least one essay or project for each unit.

*You will be expected to keep a notebook for this class.  You should come to class every day with a 3-ring notebook.  This notebook is only for U.S. History.  Your notebook will be divided into 5 sections: warm-ups, vocabulary, notes/outlines, writing assignments, and other.  You will turn in your notebook on the day of each unit test and I will give you a grade for keeping your materials together and having them organized.

Important Information:

Make-up Work:  You have two days per absence to make up any missed work.  If you are absent I will need a note excusing your absence.  If you do not have an excused absence you may only receive up to a 75% for the assignment.  You can find your make-up work in the front of the room.  If you have any questions about your assignment you can certainly come and ask me, but I will always you your work ready for you the day you get back.  It is your responsibility to get your assignments--I will not remind you to get your work when you come back to class!  If you miss a test or quiz you must see me within the make-up time period to arrange a time to make up the work.  There will be deadlines for when missed tests must be made up by.  LATE WORK IS NOT ACCEPTED!

Extra Credit:  You can receive  extra credit points to be added to your test.  With each unit you can create a crossword puzzle with vocabulary words and key terms.  You are able to receive 6 points extra credit to be added to your test.  You are required to turn in a blank crossword that includes the clues, at least 10 down and 10 across, and you must have a separate answer key.

Office Hours:  Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (3:15-4:00), and by appointment.

After School Tutorials:  Tutorials will be offered after school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for those who would like extra help, practice, or need to make up work.  They last from 3:15-4:30.  I will let you know what rooms these tutorials will take place at a later date.  I expect you to take advantage of these opportunities!
